Description

A core sample is formed when a mining company drills down with a round pipe and brings up a section of rock.  The sample is then split to see what precious metals it may contain.  This core sample came from an abandoned mine in Nevada that Jake likes to visit.  The miners were looking for silver and copper, and weren’t concerned about the other minerals they encountered, such as malachite, azurite, chrysocolla and turquoise.  The core samples contain some of these minerals and they form unique patterns in the rock and make a nice piece of jewelry.  This stone is set in a copper wire setting, with square copper wire framing the back, and prongs to hold the stone in place.
