Turquoise Pendant 41

Description

This is an exceptional piece of turquoise that Jake found while at the Royston Turquoise mine in Nevada.  The Royston mine is famous for the high quality of its turquoise, and it is one of the few turquoise mines in North America that is still producing.  The mine owners used to allow the public to dig in the mine tailings for a fee, but they have now discontinued that practice.  Jake was able to visit the mine twice before it was closed to the public and he still has a nice stash of the raw turquoise he found there.  So, he is able to pick out a few choice pieces each year to turn into jewelry.  This stone has a light blue color mixed with some dark green and the tan of the matrix rock to create a beautiful piece.  The setting is sterling silver with a full silver back, a fine silver fancy bezel encircled by an especially nice sterling silver twisted accent wire, topped by a nice sterling bail.
