Turquoise Pendant 44

Description

This is a large piece of turquoise that Jake found at the Royston Turquoise mine in Nevada.  The Royston Mine is famous for the incredible quality of the turquoise it produces and is one of the last remaining turquoise mines in the United States.  The mine owners used to allow the public to dig through the mine tailings, and Jake was fortunate to be able to visit this mine twice before it was closed to the public.  This piece of turquoise is very thick, especially for Royston turquoise, so Jake decided not to cut it apart, but to leave it mostly in the state in which he found it.  It is slightly polished but also has some raw spots.  The setting is a sterling silver cap.
