Gem Chalcedony Ring 1

Incredible Color!

Gem Chalcedony is a new stone for Jake that he discovered on his most recent rockhounding trip out west.  The deposit of this gemstone is outside a little town in Nevada called Goldfield, which, at one time was the site of a significant gold strike.   The gold petered out and so did the population of the town, but there are still a few people living there.  One of those residents runs a rock shop and he was the one that suggested to Jake that he try looking for some of these stones.  He showed Jake a few of the finished pieces he had done and Jake was hooked.  Just looked at the color and finish on this stone.  It has whites, browns, yellows and a hint of purple, and it takes a great polish.  The stone is set in sterling silver with a fancy sterling bezel and half round sterling wire as a ring stock.  The ring size is 13.
