Septarian Pendant 2

Septarian Beauty!

Jake found this piece of Septarian on a recent trip to Utah.  Septarian nodules are sometimes called “dinosaur eggs” as the are egg shaped and often are hollow with crystals on the inside.  So, many people buy the full sectarian ‘egg” as a display piece, but Jake thinks the colors and patterns on the outside of the stone make a great piece of jewelry.  This stone has beautiful patterns of browns and yellows running through it.  It is set using copper square wire framing the back with prongs to hold the stone in place and an antique copper bail.
