Wire Wrapped Core Sample Pendant 2
Wire Wrapped Beauty!
This is a great looking pendant made from a core sample that Jake found at an abandoned copper and silver mine in Nevada. A core sample is made when the miners drill down with a round pipe. The rock fills the pipe and is brought back to the surface, then cut in half lengthwise to see if it contains any of the precious metals the miners are seeking. When the mine was abandoned, they left loads of core samples behind, and Jake likes to take the ones that are colorful with copper related minerals like malachite, azurite and chrysocolla along with other minerals. This stone is filled with color and contrast, and is wrapped in champagne and black colored copper wire.
